Adopt Emjay

Emjay is the female joey of “Emmy”.

Emmy was brought into the Hospital after a caller (whose home overlooks the Emerald Downs Golf Club at Port Macquarie) had noticed a koala on the ground walking around in circles and bumping into trees. The rescuers who picked up this koala not only noticed that she was blind, but she also had a bulge in her pouch.

Both mother and joey were examined at the koala hospital. Emmy's eyes were in such poor condition that it was decided both mother and joey should be placed into one of the outside yards for further care.

Emjay decided to emerge from mum’s pouch around seven months and both mother and daughter adjusted to life in the hospital with ease. Emjay grew into a beautiful, healthy joey, and was released into a safe bush environment.
